Active cooperation within the UN Office in Vienna – the International year of Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace

During the 66th session of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs held in Vienna, Austria on March 13-17, 2023, a side event titled "Active Dialogue - Preventing Drug Illicit Use" was held.

Representatives of UNODC, CARICC, Central Asian and other regions countries actively participated in this side-event, which was organized in the ongoing International Year of Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace" announced by the UN General Assembly.

Participants exchanged views, experiences, achievements, and upcoming challenges in the field of combating illicit drug use.

At the same time, it was noted that the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs has an important role in bringing together the representatives from all over the world, advancing the tasks aimed at preventing illegal drug trafficking, establishing and strengthening effective cooperation between the parties.

This side-event was organized by the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan jointly with the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia and CARICC.
