HUMANITARIAN COOPERATION IS STRENGTHENING ON THE CIS PLATFORM

Today, at the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, humanitarian cooperation was discussed.

The participants exchanged views and proposals on the current aspects of cooperation in this regard and outlined joint steps for the coming period.

In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan stressed that Turkmenistan considers the development of humanitarian cooperation as the most important task of interaction within the CIS. During its chairmanship in the CIS last year, Turkmenistan held a number of significant events, in particular, the Forum of the Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS Member States, to participate in which prominent scientists and masters of Arts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Russia gathered in Ashgabat.

It was emphasized that Turkmenistan is ready to further promote the development of humanitarian ties between the countries, and welcomes the decision to declare 2022 in the CIS as the Year of Folk Art and Cultural Heritage, and 2023 as the Year of the Russian language as the language of interethnic communication.
