For women entrepreneurs of the country were discussed the prospects for Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO
Ashgabat hosted a round table on the implications of Turkmenistan's accession to the World Trade Organization for local women entrepreneurs.
The event brought together employees of ministries and departments, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, as well as media representatives. Having familiarized themselves with the process of accession and admission to the World Trade Organization on the example of individual countries, the participants also reviewed existing agreements in this area.
It should be noted that at the 11th WTO Ministerial Conference in Buenos Aires, 118 member countries of the organization signed the Declaration on the Empowerment of Women in Trade. The document prescribes the mechanisms of the WTO in order to increase the participation of women in trade. The actions listed in the declaration are designed to provide more jobs for women and, ultimately, stimulate economic growth. The document will also serve to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
