Turkmenistan stands for observance of the norms of international law and the UN Charter
Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov called on the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) to do everything necessary to end conflicts in the world and develop far-sighted, responsible solutions. This was stated by the Hero-Arkadag, speaking at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in Samarkand.
«Promoting the approaches typical for the modern conjuncture of international relations, Turkmenistan proceeds from the need for consistent consolidation of the efforts of countries to achieve the main strategic goal. The goal itself is to ensure universal stability and security in decision-making through strict observance of the norms of international law and the UN Charter», –noted Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
According to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh, in this regard, an active position of authoritative international and regional structures is required, responsible actions are needed on their part on the basis of equal and well-coordinated cooperation.
Hero-Arkadag emphasized that the political situation that is emerging in a number of regions of the Eurasian continent requires a very thoughtful, clear and serious assessment and the adoption of adequate measures.
«We believe that our Organization, both autonomously and in close cooperation with the world community, should do everything necessary to end conflicts and develop far-sighted, responsible solutions», – declared Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
According to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh, the coordinated positions of the countries of the Turkic world should become an effective mechanism for influencing political events in the world, recognizing equality, national sovereignty and the right of peoples to choose the form of government.
«Based on this, Turkmenistan proposed to develop a draft Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly «Dialogue is a guarantee of peace». We are confident that the adoption of such a document will confirm the fundamental and unequivocal commitment of the UN member countries to the peaceful and negotiated settlement of conflict situations, no matter how difficult they may be», –said Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
it was also reminded that Turkmenistan at the UN level took the initiative to declare 2025 the Year of Peace and Trust.
«We will be grateful if the Turkic states support it during the current session of the UN General Assembly», –noted the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan.
According to Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, effective countering terrorism, extremism, cybernetic and biological crime is a very urgent task in the context of ensuring universal security.
«We believe that it should be carried out at all levels – global, regional and national. We are confident that this task is especially important for those Turkic countries that are faced with such threats», –emphasized Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
