The representatives of Turkmenistan participated 23rd Alliance against Trafficking in Persons Conference in Vienna
On April 17-18, 2023 the OSCE 23rd Alliance against Trafficking in Persons Conference was held in Vienna, in which representatives of participating States, international organizations, and civil society from the OSCE area discussed how national leadership can help to end Human Trafficking. The representatives of the Turkmenistan from General Prosecutor's Office and the State Migration Service also actively took part in this conference.
The Conference provided an in-depth look at the nature and scale of human trafficking and focus on why strong political will and action is needed to overcome one of the greatest societal challenges of our time. Speakers accurately addressed the vital importance of the need for international cooperation, national challenges with data collection in relation to human trafficking, child trafficking, missing methodologies, disaggregated data, and compatibilities.
The focus was on establishing the core building blocks of an effective national response, including the necessary legislative and policy action, government anti-trafficking systems and structures, and investment needed to achieve success. The conference also explored solutions, analyzing the most effective anti-trafficking laws, and policies. It also drew attention to the systems and structures needed in each country to effectively combat human trafficking.
The outcome of the conference gave new impetus across the OSCE region to the eradication of human trafficking and outlined a roadmap for success in the next 20 years of the OSCE Action Plan.
