Productive Meetings and Visits co-organized by the Vienna Office of Union of Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan

On the sidelines of the official visit of the Turkmen Delegation to Vienna, Austria, for the 12th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission, and in partnership with the Vienna Office of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET), several field visits to manufacturing sites and meetings were organized to foster bilateral cooperation and explore innovative entrepreneurial and industrial practices.

The delegation commenced their series of visits with a trip to Valibiotics GmbH on June 3, 2024. Valibiotics GmbH, a spin-off from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Austria, is an agrarian biotech company which has been active in the Turkmen market since 2017. During their visit to the research and production site in Traiskirchen, south of Vienna, the delegation were introduced to the bioreactors developed by Valibiotics, which hold potential for local production in Turkmenistan

On the same day, the delegation visited the historic winery "Pöttelsdorf" in Burgenland, established in 1887. Producing 700,000 liters of wine annually, Pöttelsdorf exports its products across Europe. The delegation was given an insightful tour of the winery's production processes, highlighting the importance of modern marketing in the wine industry.

Within these meetings a significant milestone was reached with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Nedir Gala company and Spak GmbH to initiate cooperation on ketchup and mayonnaise production in Turkmenistan and to expand the export of these products to the European Union and Central Asia. This cooperation underscores the potential for Turkmenistan to become a key player in the regional food production market. Also concluding the series of visits, Dovrebap Ulag Merkezi held a meeting with Zoloto GmbH, facilitated by the Vienna Office of the UIET, to establish a cooperation partnership for logistics between Europe and Turkmenistan, aiming to streamline and enhance the efficiency of logistics operations.

These visits and meetings organized in cooperation with the Vienna Office of the UIET led to several positive outcomes, including strengthened cooperation in agricultural biotech, food production, and logistics. The agreements and partnerships formed are expected to enhance technological exchange, increase production capabilities, and boost exports, contributing significantly to Turkmenistan's economic development.
