Ambassador Hemra Amannazarov meets with UNIDO Director General H.E.Mr. Gerd Müller
Vienna, 2 June 2026 — Ambassador Hemra Amannazarov met with the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), H.E.Mr. Gerd Müller, at UNIDO Headquarters in Vienna on 2 June 2026.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNIDO in the areas of sustainable industrial development, economic diversification, innovation, and capacity building. Particular attention was given to opportunities for implementing joint projects aimed at promoting green industry, enhancing industrial competitiveness, and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Ambassador H.Amannazarov highlighted Turkmenistan’s commitment to sustainable economic growth and emphasized the country’s ongoing efforts to modernize its industrial sector in line with international standards. He also expressed appreciation for UNIDO’s support in advancing industrial development initiatives and fostering international partnerships.
Director General Gerd Müller reaffirmed UNIDO’s readiness to further expand cooperation with Turkmenistan and underscored the organization’s commitment to supporting member states in achieving inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their interest in deepening collaboration and exploring new avenues of partnership to promote innovation, sustainability, and economic resilience.
