MEETING OF THE TASK FORCE ON REGIONAL ENERGY COOPERATION IN CENTRAL AND SOUTH ASIA (RECA)

On March 27, 2019, the 15th meeting of the Task Force on Regional Energy Cooperation in Central and South Asia (RECA) began its work at the capital's Yyldyz Hotel. This two-day RECA meeting is organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan.

Employees and specialists from relevant ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, representatives of such international and regional organizations as the International Energy Charter, CIS, USAID and representatives of energy companies of Central Asian countries participate in the meeting.  

The meeting is held in the format of separate sessions, during which participants exchange views and information about the current state of cooperation between energy systems in Central Asia, current trends for promoting regional energy cooperation, new projects, and the state of renewable energy sources in Central Asia. The role of cross-border energy trade and regional energy security will also be discussed.

The meeting will serve as a platform for dialogue on energy cooperation to integrate energy markets, diversify sources of supply and achieve sustainable development.

On March 28 the meeting will continue its work.
