TELEPHONE CONVERSATION BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

On October 30, 2019, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Focusing on the high level of traditional interstate dialogue based on the inviolable ties of friendship and good neighborliness of the two fraternal peoples, the parties exchanged views on key areas of the Turkmen-Uzbek partnership, which is strategic and built from a position of mutual respect, taking into account the realities of the present and the situation in the region and the world.

The interlocutors noted the positive dynamics of the interstate dialogue in the context of the implementation of the agreements reached during the high-level meetings. The importance of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation was noted. An interested exchange of views took place on cooperation in solving regional problems, in particular on saving the Aral Sea and rational using water resources. The importance of implementing joint large-scale infrastructure projects was also noted.

The heads of the two fraternal countries also exchanged views on pressing issues of the international agenda of mutual interest. Along with this, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke for the further development of contacts in the humanitarian sphere.

At the end of the telephone conversation, the President of Turkmenistan and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan wished each other health and success, and the peoples of the two countries - peace, well-being and prosperity.
