MEETING WITH THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNESCO

On April 23, 2020, a video conference was held in the building of the International University of Humanities and the Development of Turkmenistan with the Deputy Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Ms. Shamila Nair Bedouelle.

During the talks, the sides exchanged views on perspective areas of partnership, identifying among them the scientific, educational and cultural sphere, cooperation in the preservation of historical and architectural monuments of the Turkmen people, which testify to the significant contribution to the development of world civilization.

The parties noted with satisfaction the efficiency of the partnership in the scientific, educational and cultural spheres, in particular, projects to preserve and promote the tangible and intangible heritage were discussed.

At the meeting, Ms. Shamila Nair Bedouelle highlighted the importance of organizing the meeting of international experts and increasing the level of awareness and understanding on role and ideals of UNESCO among the different segments of the population. Also, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of broadening the cooperation in the spheres of education, science, culture as well as in the field of information and communication technologies.
