AMBASSADOR OF CHINA PRESENTED THE COPIES OF HIS CREDENTIALS TO THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN

On January 5, 2021, the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov with the newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan Qian Naicheng took place.

During the meeting, R.Meredov congratulated the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China with the appointment to the responsible post and wished him successes in the diplomatic mission.  It was stated that in current year, the Turkmen-Chinese diplomatic relations enter the threshold of a jubilee.  The parties expressed satisfaction with the current dynamics of the development of bilateral cooperation on a wide range.     

The diplomats underlined the importance of further development and strengthening of ties between Turkmenistan and China which possess an impressive potential for joint implementation.   

The issues of strengthening friendly mutual relations between the two countries, including comprehensive expansion of bilateral political, economic and cultural cooperation were discussed.  Special emphasis was placed on the recommencement of regular contacts between the MFAs, as well as the meetings of the specialized structures of two countries.     

The positive experience of collaboration, as well as the importance of mutual support of international undertakings and initiatives within the respected regional and international platforms, primarily the UN was underlined.  In this context, the parties noted the adequacy of organizing high-level contacts, both in the format of bilateral visits, as well as within the multilateral structures.   

During the meeting, Ambassador Qian Naicheng presented the copies of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and assured that he will spend his utmost efforts for further expansion and strengthening of Turkmen-Chinese ties during his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan.
