MEETING AT THE MFA OF TURKMENISTAN HEAD OF WHO COUNTRY OFFICE

Today, on the 21st of December 2020, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Head of World Health Organization Country Office in Turkmenistan Paulina Karwowska, whose mission in Turkmenistan is about to complete.

During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the World Health Organization which has noticeably intensified in recent years.

The interlocutors stated the significance of the given specialized agency of the UN which holds an important position in the process of combatting the threats and challenges posed to the health of the humankind. In this context, the commitment of Turkmenistan to providing further assistance to the work of WHO was reiterated, in particular the initiatives of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on developing and establishing the relevant international mechanisms under the auspices of WHO were highlighted.

The Turkmen side expressed gratitude to Ms. Karwowska for her personal and professional contribution to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and WHO, including the preparation process of the national plans and programmes.

Expressing appreciation for kind words and wishes addressed to her, Head of WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan thanked the Government of Turkmenistan for the assistance provided in the implementation of her humane duty.
