THE JOINT TURKMEN-GEORGIAN COMMISSION ON INTERNATIONAL ROAD TRANSPORTATION WAS HELD IN TBILISI

On October 21-25, 2019, the second meeting of the joint Turkmen-Georgian commission on international road transportation was held in Tbilisi.

The Deputy Minister of Industry and Communication of Turkmenistan headed the delegation of Turkmenistan; the Georgian side was led by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

The delegations shared information and statistics on trade turnover and volume of road transportation between the two countries. The sides discussed the necessary measures to create favorable and competitive conditions for the carriers of the parties in implementing the international road transportation, as well as visa and tariff issues. The delegation of Turkmenistan also got acquainted with the experience of the tax and customs services of Georgia.

During the work of the Commission, the sides also discussed the issues of further fruitful development of cooperation in the field of international road transportation in order to ensure the growth of economic cooperation between the two countries. Within the framework of the visit, the delegation of Turkmenistan also took part in the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, which was held on October 22-23, 2019.
