Peace and trust in Central Asia discussed with the Secretary General of the OSCE

On 3 April 2025 at the initiative of Turkmenistan meeting of Central Asian Ambassadors and the Secretary General of the OSCE took place in Vienna.
Interlocutors discussed broad agenda of the OSCE in all three dimensions and role of Central Asia in promoting Helsinki decalogue. Regional security, climate change, transport and trade connectivity, human rights, rule of law, democratic institutions were on the agenda of the meeting.
Initiative of Turkmenistan to proclaim 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust was outlined in detail. The Initiative has been supported by the community of the United Nations which adopted relevant UNGA Resolution in 2024. Throughout 2025 numerous events aiming to build between nations trust and confidence via diplomacy, dialogue, cultural exchange, trade and economic cooperation.
Culmination of the series of events will be high-level International Forum on Peace and Trust, which will take place in Ashgabat on 12 December 2025. Cooperation between Central Asian states and the OSCE will take its deserving place in the work of the Forum.
