We believe that under your leadership and with the support of the Secretariat, we will further implement UNTOC Convention and its three protocols successfully. We assure our support and cooperation for their constructive realisation.
Mr. President, Distinguished Delegates,
Turkmenistan remains an active participant in international efforts to combat modern challenges and threats. We emphasize the firm position of our country in countering crime, human trafficking, smuggling of migrants, illicit manufacturing of and trafficking in firearms.
Turkmenistan attaches great importance to its international obligations and therefore activities to the UNTOC review mechanism are of significance. We express our appreciation to the involved parties for their flexibility in this matter and look forward to further fruitful cooperation.
Moreover, the provisions of the UNTOC and its protocols have been implemented into national legislation and it is constantly being improved as required.
The National Action Plan on Combating trafficking in human beings is being actively carried out, as well as profiled entities realize appropriate activities within the National Strategy of Turkmenistan on the Prevention of violent extremism and countering terrorism.
As the state party to the UNTOC and its three supplementing protocols, we constantly develop our experience against those negative acts using national, regional, and international effective practices.
Turkmenistan has firm political will to eradicate statelessness. Just last month, in September 1530 people, representatives of 26 nationalities, were granted citizenship of Turkmenistan.
