Thank you, Mr. Chair.
We join others expressing our deep condolences to brotherly Türkiye and Turkish Delegation in connection with the devastating earthquake that caused numerous casualties and injuries. Our thoughts are with those families, and friends of victims and wish them speedy recovery.
The Delegation of Turkmenistan welcomes the distinguished Chairs of Three OSCE Committees to the Permanent Council. We would like to thank Ambassadors Stelian Stoian, Florian Raunig and Anne-Marie Callan, for their comprehensive presentations and collaborative approach with participating States, in coordination with North Macedonian Chairmanship.
Ambassador Stoian, with your leadership we are ready to collaborate with other participating States on key goals for strengthening the collective security of the OSCE region. The work of the Security Committee, and the OSCE’s efforts to counter terrorism, border security, protection of critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, and combat transnational organized crime, is of vital importance to all participating States.
We welcome the Romania’s workplan for the Security Committee. Your collaborative approach in developing this plan elicited thoughtful contributions from participating States. We support the Romania’s overarching theme of innovative and dynamic discussions on addressing cybersecurity, cross-border trafficking, transnational threats, violent extremism and radicalisation in the digital sphere and border management - perspectives from Central Asia. Your collaborative approach in developing this plan is very much appreciated.
In the Second Dimension, our Delegation thanks Ambassador Raunig for Chairing the Economic Committee given your success in motivating participating States to move forward on key goals to strengthen the collective security of the OSCE region.
We commend the work of the Economic and Environmental Committee, which focused on a range of balanced topics from corruption, women participation and digital transformation to water management, energy security, and connectivity. We welcome the work on issues related to the environment as it is an integral part of the OSCE comprehensive concept of security. Our Delegation looks forward to expanding our engagement in this Dimension, while focusing on the North Macedonian priorities on climate change and energy security.
The link between our security and climate change and related environmental challenges deserves sustained and serious discussion. We will engage actively on the proposed environmental topics for discussion in the Committee per this year’s workplan as presented by the Chair.
Ambassador Callan, thank you for Chairing the Human Dimension Committee and Third Dimension challenges. Our Delegation has been actively engaged in the activities of the Human Dimension Committee and attaches great importance to the protection of human rights in the OSCE region. We think Youth participation and including youth in the human and security agenda is important and the Voices of youth matters in sustainable development processes.
We appreciate that you continued and strengthened the inclusive and interactive approach of the Human Dimension Committee meetings, which contributed to the good governance, gender equality, media development, Tolerance and non-discrimination and Human rights in the digital era.
