Representatives from Turkmenistan's State Migration Service attended the 8th Passenger Data Seminar & 4th Annual EE IWG Meeting in Vienna
The representatives from Turkmenistan's State Migration Service participated in the significant 8th Passenger Data Seminar and the 4th Annual Meeting of the Eastern European Informal Working Group on Passenger Data, which took place from November 6 to 8, 2024, at the Hofburg Conference Centre in Vienna, Austria. These events were jointly organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT).
The events focused on the responsible use of passenger data to combat terrorism and organized crime, highlighting best practices, innovative technologies, and international cooperation. Turkmenistan's delegation engaged with experts from various countries, contributing insights into their national practices and learning from shared experiences and the operational models discussed during the sessions.
The seminars underscored the importance of API and PNR systems in safeguarding borders and improving security frameworks, aligning with the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council and the OSCE’s 2016 Ministerial Decision
