Within the framework of the Year 2026, proclaimed under the motto “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Determined Winged Steeds”, and on the occasion of the spring celebrations, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Austria took part in a diplomatic and cultural event in Vienna, co-hosted with Diplomatic Society Magazine and held with the participation of foreign missions.

The event brought together around 300 attendees, including members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations accredited in Vienna, as well as representatives of business and public circles, providing a distinguished platform for international dialogue and cultural exchange.

During the event, particular attention was given to the substance and symbolism of the 2026 motto, notably the image of the “winged steed,” associated with the renowned Akhal-Teke horse - a national symbol of Turkmenistan embodying endurance, elegance, and continuity of historical traditions. The motto reflects the country’s commitment to sustainable development, peace, and constructive international cooperation.

Through thematic presentations and curated displays, participants were introduced to the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people. A dedicated exhibition of publications on the Akhal-Teke horse, the Turkmen Alabai dog, and traditional carpet weaving underscored the historical and cultural significance of these national symbols.

The cultural component of the event featured traditional cuisine, national attire, and musical performances on authentic instruments, contributing to a comprehensive presentation of Turkmenistan’s cultural identity.

The Embassy of Turkmenistan reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international cooperation, promoting mutual understanding, and advancing dialogue among nations in line with the principles reflected in the 2026 motto.
