Chairperson of the Turkmen-Austrian Society Awarded High Decoration of Vienna
On 24 June, a solemn award ceremony was held at Vienna City Hall in honour of Dr. Neda Berger, Chairperson of the Turkmen-Austrian Society. By decision of the Mayor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig, Dr. Berger was awarded the Golden Decoration of Merit of the Federal State of Vienna in recognition of her long-standing contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Austria.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Austria H.E. Hemra Amannazarov took part in the ceremony and congratulated Dr. Berger on behalf of Turkmenistan. In his remarks, the Ambassador expressed appreciation for her dedicated work in bringing the two countries and their peoples closer together, and highlighted her important role in the development of Turkmen-Austrian relations.
Ambassador Amannazarov noted Dr. Berger’s significant contribution to the promotion of cultural ties between Vienna and Ashgabat, including through the organization of Viennese Balls in Turkmenistan. At the same time, he emphasized that her work goes beyond the cultural sphere and also contributes to the development of cooperation in education, science, institutional dialogue, as well as trade and economic contacts.
The Ambassador underlined that the activities of the Turkmen-Austrian Society serve as an important bridge of friendship, cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries. He expressed confidence that Dr. Berger’s work will continue to contribute to the further strengthening of Turkmen-Austrian cooperation in the spirit of friendship, mutual respect and constructive partnership.
