Representatives of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan took part in the Fifth Meeting of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Informal Working Group (EECA IWG) on Passenger Data and the Ninth Passenger Data Seminar, jointly organized by the OSCE Secretariat’s Transnational Threats Department (TNTD) and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT).

The meetings, held from 5 to 7 November 2025 at the Hofburg Conference Centre in Vienna, brought together officials from Eastern Europe and Central Asia to exchange experiences on the implementation of Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR) systems, in line with UN Security Council Resolutions 2178 (2014), 2396 (2017), and 2482 (2019).

During the sessions, the Turkmen representatives provided updates on the ongoing work of the Migration Service of Turkmenistan in strengthening border management and information systems and discussed avenues for further cooperation with OSCE and UNOCT experts, including capacity-building and technical assistance activities.

The event reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to international efforts to combat terrorism and transnational organized crime, while ensuring full respect for human rights and international standards.
